How to configure Microsoft Outlook 2007?
1.Create an account in the Outlook 2007. Click Tools => Accounts Settings => New.
2. Select Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP

3. Check the Manually configure server settings or additional server types box

4. Select Internet E-mail

5. Enter your name and email address when prompted. From the Options listed below, choose “IMAP” to view and manage the mail but they are stored on the server.
For incoming mail server:
enter hkusuc.hku.hk as incoming mail server for your HKUSUC mail account or
enter hkusua.hku.hk for your HKUSUA mail account or
enter hkucc.hku.hk for your HKUCC mail account or
enter graduate.hku.hk for your GRADUATE mail account
For staff using Exchange Mail service, please refer to setup procedure at http://www.itservices.hku.hk/faq/email/exchange/
If connect to HKU campus network, the outgoing mail server (SMTP) name is "mail.hku.hk". If connect from outside campus network, the outgoing server name is "smtproam.hku.hk". Refer to "How to use smtproam.hku.hk" for detail.
NOTE: If you select POP3 mode, all your emails will be downloaded from the email server to your local folders in Outlook and you can no longer access your emails via HKU Portal/WebMail. It will be very difficult to move your emails back to the email server.

The Require login using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)
must be un-checked. Click Next.
When you are done and you should have a working Email Client that sends and receives emails for you.
