Accessing Email Outside HKU Campus Network
Authenticated SMTP Service For Roaming Email Users
If staff and students are outside HKU campus network, and the email program on PC (e.g. Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail) is configured to use "mail.hku.hk" as the
outgoing SMTP server, they may have problems sending email
because
"mail.hku.hk"
does not support open-relay of email from computers outside HKU network.
If staff and students are outside HKU campus network,
they can set outgoing SMTP server to "smtproam.hku.hk".
HKU Portal UID and PIN will be asked for sending mail.
