Special Facilities

   

Facilities Available (for University staff and students only):

  • Color scanner (in RR-104) (no prior application/booking is required)
  • DVD Production PC (in RR-104)
  • Optical Mark Reading (OMR) Scanner System (in RR-104)

Use and Booking (for DVD Production PC and OMR Scanner System)

  1. For first-time users, they are required to return the completed form "Application Form for Using Special Facilities" (CF-45) and present his/her HKU staff/student card to the General Office of the Computer Centre at RR-223 for identification.
  2. Subsequent reservations can be made by calling our General Office at 2859 2491.
  3. Users are required to present their HKU staff/student cards to the Computer Room in RR-108 for using the facilities. Our staff will then turn on the booked facilities for users.
  4. Advanced booking is required for using the special facilities. There are six 2-hour sessions on Monday to Saturday and two 2-hour sessions on Sunday. Details are as follows:

    Monday to Saturday:

    9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
    11:00 a.m. - 1.00 p.m.
    1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
    3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
    5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
    7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

    Sunday:

    1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
    3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

  5. A registered user may only reserve the special facilities for at most two 2-hour sessions per day, and up to a maximum of four 2-hour sessions per week.
  6. No charge will be imposed for using the special facilities related to the University's activities. For non-University related use, applicable charges will be applied.
