Anti-Virus
Software Provided for
Students
To make the campus network better protected from attacks from computers
used by students, students can now download ONE copy of the Sophos anti-virus (SAV) software
from HKU Portal (under the tab “Services” => under “Computer Centre
Services” => “Download Sophos Anti-Virus”) and
install it on a computer for work related to University studies during
their stay at the University.
The use of the software is governed by the Sophos end-user
license agreement at http://www.sophos.com/legal/eula.html.
An online guide on installation and use of SAV is available at
http://www.itservices.hku.hk/faq/virus/sav-install.htm. After successful
installation, you will see the icon “ ” at the right of your Windows
task-bar.
