Automatic Account System for
WebCT (WebCT AAS) 
An automatic account creation system has been
developed by the Computer Centre for WebCT courses in HKU. This WebCT Automatic
Account System (WebCT AAS) will help you create student accounts for your
WebCT courses based on the latest student enrollment data from the Registry
unit.
Overview of WebCT AAS
In WebCT, after you have prepared the course content, you are required
to create student accounts for your students such
that they can login your WebCT course and access the course material. With
the new WebCT AAS, which will appear as one of the WebCT buttons on your
course designer's homepage, you can specify an AFSS course number and WebCT
AAS will extract student enrollment data for this course from the Registry
database and create WebCT accounts accordingly. Alternatively, you may
select Faculty and year of study instead of the course number in this account
creation process.
(Note that WebCT AAS can only handle WebCT
accounts for HKU undergraduate students. For postgraduate or distance learning
students, you have to use standard account management functions provided
by WebCT.)
