To allow staff and students who are leaving the University a more orderly transition in their use of electronic mail, the Computer Centre is pleased to announce that staff and students who are leaving the University will have their personal computer accounts on our Centre's systems extended automatically for a grace period of 31 days before their accounts are closed.
The grace period will be effective from the staff's leaving date or from the date of change of status for students as recorded in the Registry's staff and student database. E-mails will be sent to inform them of the grace period and when their personal accounts will be closed.
Staff and students who are leaving the University are still advised to make early and necessary arrangements for transferring their computer accounts well before the grace period, e.g. copying their data files, email, email address, notifying their email partners of their new email address etc. Please be warned that the personal computer accounts will NOT be accessible after the grace period.
