We are pleased to inform our users that the Problem Reporting System of the Estates Office was successfully launched on December 7, 1998. This system was jointly developed by the Estates Office and the Computer Centre. The objective of the Problem Reporting System to allow UIS users to report problems through the University Staff Intranet. Problems which can be reported include the following : Building Maintenance, Electrical and Mechanical, Cleaning, Parking, Security and Gardening.
To report a new problem, UIS users
can initiate the web page through:
1. the University Staff Intranet
at http://www.hku.hk/intranet.
You can click on the 'Intranet
Systems for Staff' button, enter your UIS account name and password,
then click on 'UIS' button, select 'Estates' to enter into
Problem Reporting System
OR
2. The Estates Office web page at http://www.hku.hk/estates under the Service Guide button.
You can select Problem Reporting
and you will be prompted for your UIS account name and password.
On the web page, users can fill in the details of the problem, e.g. building name, floor, room and nature of the problem. On completion of the details, simply click on 'Send request' button on the bottom of the web page. A Work Order Number will be assigned to this problem and users can take note of this number for tracking and future reference. The request has now been sent to the Estates Office for action.
To track the latest status of problems raised, an enquiry facility is also provided for users to check on the progress of the problems reported.
