Following the renewal of the CLP Universal Academic Agreement (CLPUAA) signed between the Joint Universities Computer Centre (JUCC) and the Corel Corporation, a new arrangement on Corel site license has been effected from 1 June 1999.

Highlights of the new arrangement are summarized as follows :

• System-Pro is selected as the supplier for the acquisition of Corel manuals, academic products and full products. Departments interested in acquiring these Corel products should place an order to System-Pro directly. As the free-of-charge delivery service will only be offered to one defined delivery location, departments which are acquiring the above Corel products should address the delivery of the products to the Computer Centre (Room 223 of Run Run Shaw Building). System-Pro will then deliver the ordered items to the Computer Centre collectively on a monthly basis and we will inform the Department to collect the items from us upon delivery. For urgent delivery and delivery to a different location (i.e. other than the Computer Centre), an additional fee of $150 per purchase order would be charged by System-Pro.

• The Computer Centre will coordinate with JUCC for the acquisition of Corel CLPUAA licenses and maintenance support. You may send a CC Order Form to the Computer Centre for the interested items.
 
• The maintenance support for the Corel licenses are offered on a two-year term covering the period from 1 June 1999 to 31 May 2001. All new CLP maintenance can only be purchased at the time when new CLP licenses are acquired. Departments who are currently subscribing the maintenance support for their Corel licenses up to 31 May 1999 should have received our renewal notifications.
 
• New versions of Corel products, such as WordPerfect Office 2000 (Standard and Enterprise editions), WordPerfect Suite 8 Professional, Corel Draw 9, Corel Paradox 9 and Corel Ventura 8 etc. are available under the new arrangement.
 
• Subject to the availability of the master copies, the Computer Centre will arrange a distribution service on the Corel CD media for the departments at a nominal cost of $100 per copy.
