New Software installed on the HKUSP2
System
Gaussian 98 is the latest product in
the Gaussian series of electronic structure programs. It is designed to
model a broad range of molecular systems under a variety of conditions
and to perform such computations starting from the basic laws of quantum
mechanics. Theoretical chemists can use Gaussian 98 to perform basic
research in established and emerging areas of chemical interest. Experimental
chemists can use it to study molecules and reactions of definite or potential
interest, including both stable species and those compounds which are difficult
or impossible to observe experimentally (short-lived intermediates, transition
structures and so on).
A copy of Gaussian 98 has been installed on the HKUSP2
supercomputer. Interested users may refer to our
web-page for the Gaussian software for the procedure of running the
software.
Abaqus is an analysis system for
stress, heat transfer, and other types of analyses in mechanical, structural,
civil, biomedical, and related engineering applications.
Abaqus/Pre is the pre-processing
module of the Abaqus analysis software system. One license of this software
has been installed on the HKUSP2
system. Please refer to our
web-page for the Abaqus package for the details about the Abaqus and
Abaqus/Pre software installed on the HKUSP2 system.
