More 56Kbps Modem Lines

We are pleased to announce that 120 new lines were added to the x2/V.90 standard 56Kbps modem pools on November 9, 2000.  This upgrade operation has expanded the 56Kbps modem pools for students and staff  to 888 lines. Among the new lines,  72 lines were added to the one-hour pool for all users (Tel: 29757000), 24 lines were added to the half-hour pool for all users (Tel: 29647000) and 24 lines were added to the one-hour pool for staff-only (Tel: 28595100). An updated summary of the dial-up lines is shown below

After the installation of these new lines, statistics show that users can get connected to the PPP network at any time in a day. The peak period in which a saturation in utilization of the lines can be observed is between 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.  If you should encounter any difficulties in using the dial-up lines, please contact the undersigned.
