IT Services Planning Workshop 2011

A two-day IT Services (ITS) Planning Workshop was organized on 27-28 October 2011 at the Alumni Chamber of the HKU Medical Alumni Association.  This is an annual workshop for the senior colleagues of ITS to review our strategic direction, identify the major issues being faced, suggest possible resolutions to address these issues and identify actions flowing from these resolutions.

We were very honoured to have Professor Roland Chin (Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost) and Professor John Malpas (Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President - Infrastructure) joining the workshop to share with us the University’s strategies, challenges, upcoming developments and the roles of ITS in support of the University's missions.  Our colleagues had fruitful exchanges with Professor Chin and Professor Malpas at the Workshop and heard valuable views and comments from them.

With active participation from colleagues, we have had 2 fruitful days of event through which major issues, resolutions and follow-up actions were identified for the coming year.  One of the top priority tasks identified was to ensure ITS was well prepared and ready to support the double cohorts in 2012-13.  The ITS Senior Management Team is now reviewing the inputs and suggestions collected from the Workshop and is working to formulate the appropriate action plans.
