Introduction
The Computer Centre provides the bulk email
service for University departments (including centres,
units and student societies) to send departmental
notices to staff and students through email.
Departments can designate one or more staff members
to be the department's bulk email submitter
who can submit departmental notices in the HKU
Portal by clicking Services->
Bulk Email Services.
How
to submit bulk email notices:
All departmental notices must be classified as
important notices or general notices.
(The default is general notice).
Important notices contain important
information that should be read by all recipients.
Important notices will be sent to all designated
recipients.
General notices contain information
of general interest to members of the University.
Email recipients can select to receive or not
to receive general notices from any department.

A staff or student can select to receive
or not to receive the general notices of any departments
in the HKU Portal by clicking MyEmail
-> Mail Utilities (on the top
menu bar) ->Bulk Email Control.
Please note that the important notices from
a department will be delivered to a user even if
he/she has selected not to receive the general notices
of the same department.
