The IBM 9076 SP2 system installed in the Univeristy of Hong Kong consists of three frames. Each frame consists of 16 IBM P2SC RISC processors. Individual node has its own local RAM and local disk storage (for system files and local scratch spaces). Each node in a frame is interconnected by high performance switches and the three frames are also linked up by an inter-frame high performance switch. In addition to the three frames, there is a RS600/570 machines used as a file server mounted to individual node through nfs (for data files and users' own files).
